BBC Report About Leslie Howard's Death

[BBC Report of Leslie Howard's Death] On Saturday, July 30, I posted on Facebook the 2014 BBC report on Leslie Howard's Death ...

Berkeley Square - 1933
[Articles]

Berkeley Square is a 1933 pre-code American film that was revolutionary for its time. It supposes that time is layered rather than linear. Leslie Howard was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as Peter Standish. He lost to Charles Laughton for The Private Life of Henry VIII. In 1933 the Oscars not only announced the winners, but also the runners up. When Charles Laughton (who was not in attendance) was announced as the winner, the audience "sat on their hands." When Leslie Howard was announced as first runner up, Howard's friends and peers roared.
