BBC Report About Leslie Howard's Death

[BBC Report of Leslie Howard's Death] On Saturday, July 30, I posted on Facebook the 2014 BBC report on Leslie Howard's Death ...

My Sources

I would like to state that I have found minor errors in every book and article I have read about Leslie Howard, including the books written by Howard's own children. I point these out when I find them and in one instance, "Leslie Howard's Lucky Coin," I have done an extensive study into the facts and timeline of the events discussed in the article. Most errors seem innocent enough and are more a matter of when an event occurred rather than if the event occurred. More concerning, however, are statements made in Estel Eforgan's book which are damaging to Leslie Howard's character and reputation with somewhat questionable or missing sources. I have noted in my Leslie Howard Biography when I disagree with Eforgan's conclusions. In any event, when I find any mention of Leslie Howard in any source and the statement does not have a reference, I attempt to verify against another source. I only include unverified information to illustrate known events while storytelling and when there would be no material impact to the facts of Leslie Howard's life or his character.

I do not read Spanish and have never read José Rey Ximena's book. However, statements in his book regarding Leslie Howard and Conchita Montenegro have been widely reported so I assume they are contained in his book. However, Conchita Montenegro's claims have not been verified as far as I know.

Other material, such as Wikipedia articles, have questionable statements which I am attempting to verify. I have noted these in articles and pages I have written and will update these statements when the resources have been verified.
