From the article above regarding Box B:
___________________________________________
“BOX B”
On Monday afternoon, May 6, 1918, was presented here, for the first time upon the variety stage. Cosmo Gordon Lennox’s one act play, entitled—
“Box B”
Capt. Robert Stroud. R.F.C., Mr. Leslie Howard
Programme Girl................Miss Elsie Margetson
Elaine Vevash..............................Miss Iris Hoey
Produced by Mr. Norman McKinnel.
Originally produced at the Royalty last summer—and duly noticed in these columns—Cosmo Gordon Lennox’s amusing little piece makes a most acceptable item for a variety programme. While being brightly and wittily written, it is not exactly overburdened in the matter of plot, yet it allows Miss Iris Hoey, in the principal part, to exhibit some of her very best work. Leslie Howard, as the young captain, is excellent and the cast is suitably completed by Elsie Margetson as the Programme Girl. “Box B,” which has been effectively produced by Norman McKinnel, was favourably received by a large audience on Monday afternoon.
