According to Ronald Howard, when asked by reporters why he was returning to England, Leslie Howard replied that "there were some Americans living in the county of Surrey he was looking forward to meeting again." The reporters were surprised and intrigued and asked who these Americans were. Howard confessed they were a dozen Texas polo ponies. In Search of My Father, pg. 17
